What do you love about producing audiobooks?

It’s the feeling of being limitless! Age, race, physicality, or gender are not barriers. You get to delve into worlds and into characters that would never ever be feasible in visual genres.

Clare here, thanks for stopping by!

How did you get into audiobook production?

I’ve always had a passion for storytelling, whether through books, music, movies or onstage productions. So when I discovered that I could thrust myself into all of these fantastical worlds through audiobooks and play every character, I was like a kid in a candy shop! I wanted to taste every flavour, and did.

What are your favorite genres to produce?

I really appreciate a good informational book, particularly one on a topic I would have never chosen on my own accord. However, mystery books are my favorite by far! I love a good slow-burn, page-turner that has me on the edge of my seat from beginning to end.

Experience?

While I’ve spent most of my career in the field of design, the world of audio has always been quietly knocking on my door.

From a young age I would often be asked to read aloud in class and when I would enter public speaking contests it was always shocking to me when I actually won. I could hear the knocking then, but it wasn’t loud enough yet.

Later on in life I joined a hip-hop group and enjoyed a brief stint as an on-stage rapper and then went on to do some radio broadcasting. The knocking however, was still not yet loud enough. I was still holding on to full time work in the design industry.

Then one day in 2018 it was suggested that I give audiobook recording a try. After recording my first book, I could no longer ignore the knocking. I have never picked up a microphone without finding some modicum of success. THIS is what I was supposed to be doing, so I opened the door to the world of audiobooks. I fell in love instantly and have been consistently working in the industry ever since

At the time of this writing, I have produced over 100 books under the name Clare Radix and also under several pseudo-names. This site (loudNClare.com) is to showcase a few of my faves but you can find many more on Audible.com. I really appreciate you taking the time to read this, thanks again for stopping by! Love.
